Vegetarianism

December 11th 2007 00:04
I have been thinking a lot about vegetarianism and veganism lately. I have a friend who is vegan and has been raised as a vegan. His mother is a naturopath and she believes that eating animal products is harmful to your health. She is working on her PhD at the moment, so it seems that she knows what she is talking about. However, none of my lecturers have said that avoiding animal products will improve your health. They have said that eating too much meat can increase your chances of cancer, especially if it is cooked at very high temperatures. They have also said that some people can not consume milk and milk products due to lactose intolerance and allergies. I'm wondering if it is actually healthier to avoid animal products. So, I thought it would be a good idea to investigate this.
