More yummy European Food

Hi everyone!
I'm back in New Zealand (home) and I've been back at work for a week now. I almost forgot to mention the foods that I tried in Italy and France.
In Italy I tried authentic Italian pizza, pasta, cheese and red vino (wine). Amazing!
The pizza they have in Italy is unlike the pizza we have in NZ. The crust is very thin and crispy. Very little cheese is used. The base is usually covered in a tomato paste, with a bit of garlic, oil and oregano. Sometimes they pop slices of fresh mozzarella just before they serve the pizza - very tasty.
Now the pasta – I only tried it twice. The first time I had it, I had a creamy mushroom pasta. It was a bit on the salty side. It was a restaurant in a touristy part of Venice, so chances are, it was not authentic. The second I tried Italian pasta was in Florence, in a cute little restaurant. I had a spaghetti with a fresh basil and chunky tomato sauce. Divine!
I only tried red Italian wine. I’m not a big fan of red wine, probably because I can’t seem to find anything decent in New Zealand. However, the red wine made in Italy is smooth and drinkable. Even the cheaper wines taste nice.
Well it is getting late, so I will talk about French food a little bit later.
Good night!
